My First Apron

My mom fixed the tension on my sewing machine
so yesterday I FINALLY got it out and started sewing.

I had this skirt in my closet with a broken zipper
and I couldn't bring myself to throw it out
because I love the pattern.

So I made an apron out of it
I hate the pleats
But I'm proud of my hard work

Google - You Just Freaked Me Out

Ok so I got an e-mail from someone who had recently been to Bonny Doon Beach
and found my post on google (I am assuming - because look who is on the first page
of the search results! ME!).
He was a little bit upset that I was so perturbed about the nudity I encountered there
I want to clarify
I do not mind people being nude
that's fine
you're on a deserted beach where no one takes their children
All I'm saying is - put a sign. OK?

Our Vases Get all Dressed Up

I found this really pretty ribbon at our local Beverly's to
decorate our kitchen vases and now they're all fancied up!

Yay!

Something to Love Saturday #2

This is a bit late
but a lot has been happening around here
so I have an excuse

Anyhoo.. this week something to love is my fridge

I love all the stuff we end up sticking to it.
I never had a fridge that was magnetic growing
up so I like to take full advantage of ours!

I tend to joke about how our fridge looks like we have
5 children posting things up on it every other day
my favorite things include the little drawings and such that Jacqueline and Sarah send us
the mini white board that we write notes and to-do lists on
and photos of course.

Yesterday's Photo Opportunities

Yesterday we had a little family photo session:

I know we're cute - you don't have to tell me that.

The Best Things in Life are Free

I think Anthony would probably agree with that statement
except for of course, ICE CREAM
That is for sure on his top ten list of "best things" and it is definitely not free
But spending the day with your best friend
in the great outdoors
not much can beat that I don't think

I LIKE LIMES

Take My Mom's Advice

A good majority of the day our house looked like this
Anthony's plumbing skills came in handy
because...
I put ground beef grease down the drain last night
and it decided to regurgitate itself this morning
what a joy

Sorry I didn't listen when you told me not to do that MOM.

Mr. Carpenter

Dear Aunt Tammy -

I just want to apologize for the two years Anthony
continuously promised you the little 1/2 foot shelf for
your kitchen and did not deliver.

I must have considerable influence because I asked
for a "bar with stools for the deck" and I got it!

Love, Kels

Something to Love Saturday #1

Something to Love Saturday is my new idea.
Every Saturday I'll pick something to love.
The plan is for it to be something in my house
but who knows what will happen down the road.

This week Something I love are my recipe books.
I love the way they look all lined up in the kitchen

Target I LOVE YOU!

We went to Target today with some money I randomly found and finally bought a frame for this huge Beach Boys poster!
and we got a shower curtain

I am so happy. This house just keeps looking better and better.

Chocolate Milk ala Anthony

Pour milk in a glass too large for anyone's own good
fish in the fridge for the Hersheys
add to milk
add much too much to the milk
til you get to the point where the chocolate to milk ratio is about 50/50
grab the largest spoon you can find
add a disgusting amount of sugar
and stir
then drink it. quickly. it must be done quickly.
Finally - lay down because your stomach will be hurting unbearably.
