FBOOK Challenge Day 27

A picture of yourself and a family member

I'm tweaking this one a bit:

Here's my newest family member.
This is Shadow.
She's 12.
She's a chocolate lab and she is awesome.
She was my papa's dog so she's pretty special.

A picture of something that means a lot to you
 Quality time

"Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just want to lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone
so leave a message after the tone

nothing at all.."

FBOOK Challenge Day 24

A picture of something you wish you could change

I don't know if you guys have noticed but I don't like letting go of those that I love. I tend to under-appreciate them and then they just go ahead and die on me. Rosie Rose Camello. The ying to Axel's yang. The best friend Anthony ever had. Wish she never got flattened by that car. She always was a daredevil - what a way to go.

Disclaimer: She died awhile ago. Just FYI.

I call this Garage Day

When we were younger and thought we were so cute we would put sheets up in our bedrooms and do photo shoots. A couple nights ago we attempted to do one sans sheets. These are random but I like them.

Depth of Field

This is my husband
he is learning how to use his new camera
yesterday he spent some time on the kitchen floor exploring depth of field
shortly before this he asked me the question:
"Is it depth and field or depth of field?"
After two years of photography classes
that question makes me laugh
not to mention the banana on the floor

FBOOK Challenge Day 21

A picture of something you wish you could forget

I would never choose to forget this wonderful person
but
I wish I could forget having to watch my grandpa fight for his life
the deterioration of his body
the weight loss
the incapacity to do anything alone

to watch someone so independent
so giving
so loving
in that state
I'd forget if I could

Flowers to Brighten a Winter Day

I find these beautiful pink flowered trees all over the place this time of year.
Yesterday I was driving home from work when I noticed they dot the side of the road in front of my house so today I ventured out to get a few shots of them.

Aren't they beautiful? I tried to find out what type of tree it is but I still have no clue. Does anyone know the name?

FBOOK Challenge Day 17

A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently
 My bike

Pilates every other morning with mom
Wii Fit every morning
My new obsession with Michael Jackson: The Experience Wii Dance game
Finding out that a "Guiltless Grill" is a bit of a joke. I'd rather make something at home than try and pretend to like what a restaurants seemingly healthy options are.

At least I'm attempting to get healthy.

Mumford and Sons

"After the Storm"

And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears
And love will not break your heart but dismiss your fears
Get over your hill and see what you find there
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair

Being a Married Valentine is SO MUCH FUN!

This year - for the very first time - we made Valentine's Day an actual "thing"
The hubs would disagree and tell you that one time he bought me a Homer Simpson Card and some Reeses and that it was an amazing Valentines Day.
I decline to comment.

This year I put pink hearts all over our bedroom with reasons why I love him. It was really difficult trying to come up with reasons that I hadn't already told him in the past.

And I made up a little goody basket with new shampoo, cookies and candy.

I was surprised when I got to my car and found two new CDs on my dashboard. SCORE! I never buy myself new CDs and he finally got the hint and started buying them for me. It's so fun to get gifts, isn't it?

I always have trouble finding something to say when people ask me questions like, "Do you feel different being married?" or "Is it any more fun being married?"

So now I have one thing to say... Valentine's Day doesn't feel cliche anymore - now it's not just any day, rather it's and an excuse to buy or make each other something.
In my opinion that's something new and fun, right?

Happy 1st Valentines Day to my Bubbi.

Big Basin Camping for Four

Our first mistake was deciding to go camping in the winter...
Our second mistake was eating beans....
Our third mistake was only bringing one sleeping bag (I thought it'd be more romatic or something)
Beyond that we had a blast.

We drove down to Big Basin Redwoods Saturday afternoon for a campout with some friends. All three of them bailed on us about five minutes before it was time to leave so we met up with Mike and Sam who just happened to be camping there too!

I cooked us up some beans and hot dogs on the little Coleman BBQ we got for the wedding while Anthony got our tent up and running.

We decided that we've never had such good food in all our lives as the food eaten during a campout.

I don't know if you can tell by this photo but I was absolutely freezing. You would think that perfectly sunny days would have moderately warm nights. WRONG! I had three pairs of socks on and I was still freezing.
I attempted to take a photo of Sam and I but every single one was blurry
We had a good time despite the cold

but next time I'll definitely pack warmer clothes.

FBOOK Challenge Day 14

A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

I feel so lucky to have the family I have been given. We don't like each other all the time but we do love each other all the time and nowadays it seems like that can be a rare find.
