Well it was a happy anniversary for these two dorks
we drove up to Groveland for a weekend of laziness
(no we never got that hike in)
Angie was so good on her first real car trip. We thought she would be fussy but this girl slept the entire way there and the entire way back without a peep. I keep hearing of people whose dogs pee and throw up every time they hop in the car. We consider ourselves pretty lucky.
Friday we had a game marathon which somehow led into a three hour dance party in the living room.
Anthony kills it at "Name that State" and I kind of hate him for it.
Although I am the master of Mad Gab and Taboo... not to mention how awesome I am at Poker. If I do say so myself.
Angie was not amused by the dancing
Saturday we headed into town for the flea market and Live History day at the museum. I got a ton of books, some pretty cool kitchen utensils, a date stamp, a new tarp for camping.. all kinds of great stuff at the flea market.
We had a massive breakfast at PJ's
and I met a horse for the first time! It was so cool!
I wanted to learn how to make a broom out of hay but Anthony didn't really like the museum part of our day so much.
Then we went back to the cabin and played with miss Angie til she passed out. I think she liked running around a room that was carpeted for once.
For dinner we went down to the Hotel Charlotte where they serve you bread and butter before dinner. Now that is a classy dinner in Groveland... I dressed fancy of course. HA!
Sunday we woke up and had ice cream for breakfast. On your anniversary you can do whatever you want - that's what we decided.
apparently the rest of this year is packed. And since then we've added another full weekend in November so yippee for having no downtime...
On our way home Sunday we got Starbs. I love traditions that taste so good!
That night we went out to dinner at BJ's in Fremont and had Tom as our server. It was nice to catch up with my brosef who was sweet enough to sing us a "Happy Anniversary" song.
and then we were going to have an awesome photo shoot but after eating all weekend I really didn't feel like trying to look not-bloated for a bunch of photos. Hopefully we'll get around to doing that this coming week.
And before we went to bed we popped open our last bottle of champagne from the wedding and tried the top tier of our wedding cake. Neither Anthony or I actually had cake on our wedding day (too much dancing going on) so we were pleasantly surprised that a one year old frozen cake tasted so good.
On Monday we gave each other our presents. I made Anthony a card and wrote him a poem and I got him a new Coleman lantern for camping (something we plan to do a lot more of this coming year).
I was lucky enough to receive a voucher for a new iPhone! I am so freaking excited! And a pretty sweet Pabst poster for the kitchen. Oh.. and hiking shoes. I'm such a lucky girl.
Happy Anniversary bubs!
Thanks for a fun filled weekend. Here's to our 2nd - and more awesome than this last year - year.
Kels
