April 28th was a beautiful day in REO. The culmination of our office fitness challenge took place in sunny San Jose.
Somehow the mass over-serving that occurred on Saint Patrick's Day led to the brilliant idea of having a fitness challenge amongst the men of the office and some of the REO agents in the field. The girls planned to be cheerleaders for our respective managers.
So.. the challenge...
Eight of the guys were to do 50 push ups followed by a mile run and anther 50 push ups.
It sounds easy
Apparently it's not.
the trophy
with gold medals for all and bibs for the guys to wear during their run
Dave invited his parents.. how cute.
Shar, Christine and I
me and my boss man. We had high hopes for this one.
From left: Fear the Fitz, Frank the Tank, The Top Dog, Big Daddy D, The Godfather, The Green Giant, The Shamrock and Londonese
The cheering section with Caleb
Gretchen wanted Dave to win so badly she was jumping up and down and forgot she was pregnant until she almost peed her pants. Too funny! She did win the best cheerleader award, though.
Dilan came in first and we proceeded to shoot him with silly string
Dave and Derrick were neck in neck - only five push ups off from one another.
The winner
who by the way won $100 from each participant
Frank's head was too big to fit the dollar store gold medal necklaces. Lesson learned. Don't shop in the kids section for adult size objects.
The winning team!
Derrick got a beer and a cigarette at the end of the race. Two thing he had given up during "training"
We all went to the Yardhouse to celebrate
Don't ask.. I have no clue how this came about.
We try Christine.. we try.
And thus concluded the first REO Olympics.
The next fitness challenge will include us girls.
Or else we're boycotting...
