TL Takes Santy Crooz

Anthony was in blueprint class this week and had Friday off, so we decided to escape the gloomy weather in Fremont and head down to Santa Cruz for the day.

First, we stopped in at the Museum of Art and History. I took down some notes for our museum. The ideal would of course be a new building in our blossoming downtown, just like Santa Cruz has, but that's just a dream (for now?!). After that we stopped in at Santa Cruz Ale Works for a beer and lunch. We decided to hold out for BBQ, but they made Lee a nice little PB&J. They had a sweet dog there too, who was a big fan of Leeland's peanut butter fingers. Anthony checked out a used tool shop and Bill's Wheel's while Lee and I napped. We had BBQ for lunch at our favorite, Cole's BBQ. Little dude was a big fan of the french fries and baked beans. Yum! Then we headed over to Twin Lakes (OUR BEACH!!!!) for a little while. Lee was a BIG FAN of the waves, but didn't want to touch them hahahaha. Finished off our mini-trip with a walk along the Lighthouse area / West Cliff and ice cream at Marianne's (duh!).

What a day it was! We did so much in one day (do we do things any other way?), but we had such a blast taking Leeland to one of our all time favorite towns for the first time since he could actually point to things and tell us he liked them in his own way - aka baby sign language ala Lee.

Everyone needs little mini vacation days ever once in awhile, am I right?

oh, and my camera is fixed! woo hoo!!!
