pumpkin pie, yellow leaves + family photos

On Thanksgiving-eve I set to work baking up my annual apple pie. It never seems to look any more professional, but it does taste pretty darn good each and every year! This year I also made a no-bake dessert c/o A Beautiful Mess blog. I made peanut butter chocolate Reeses bars, and they were a hit! YUM!!!

Typically I bake or cook while enjoying a nice, cold beer. Nowadays it's ginger beer, egg nog, decaf tea, or just plain old ice water.

On Thursday we all drove out to Valley Springs to celebrate at Aunt Sheri's and Unc Hugh's. It was a nice change of pace to enjoy the holiday in a different location. Everyone was able to attend, including Nikki and Zara, and Grandma Weems!

Now Thanksgiving is over, and we're all gearing up for Christmas! This year we've got so much on the calendar: The Niles Parade, Christmas in the Park, getting a tree, decorating gingerbread houses, seeing It's a Wonderful Life at the theater, making sweet bread, making a decorating sugar cookies, and of course, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

It's going to be a VERY BUSY MONTH.
Happy December 1st to you all!
